FAQ's

Are concrete countertops for me?

Concrete countertops are not for everyone. It is very important to gauge your level of expectation. Concrete countertops are not a perfect product because the organic nature of the handmade process produces variations in color, shade, texture and overall appearance. These variations add character and charm and should not be viewed as defects. The best way to tell if you will like concrete for your countertop is to see and experience one in person.

What are the benefits of concrete countertops?

Customization is definitely at the top of the list. Each piece is completely unique and hand crafted by local artisans. Our proprietary mixes produce high strength and extremely durable concrete designed to last. Concrete is also very versatile, having the ability to work well with a variety of styles.

What are the drawbacks?

In spite of the durability of the sealer, it will scratch if cut with a knife or if a heavy, sharp object is dragged across it. Cutting on the concrete may damage the integrity of the sealer and allow stains to permeate the surface. A cutting board should always be used. It is possible to fix the sealer if compromised.

How much do concrete countertops cost?

Our tops range in price from $50 per square foot on the low end to well over $100 on the high end. This is largely dependent on the size and shape of the project as well as the color and aggregate selection. Custom pieces require custom pricing.

Does your product stain?

Concrete Revealed uses an industry-leading sealer which provides a surface that is extremely stain-resistant and low-maintenance. Common food items will not stain it. The sealer does not degrade, and therefore does not need to be reapplied every year like many other sealers.

Will your product crack?

We guarantee our product against structural cracks for the first year. If it were going to crack it would happen in this time period. Non-structural hairline shrinkage cracks are possible and are considered an inherent part of the product, not a manufacturing defect.

How thick are they?

Our standard countertop thickness is 1.5 inches with larger thicknesses available. Certain applications can be done as thin as .75 inches.

What is the care and maintenance?

Our countertops require very little maintenance. A gentle cleaner, warm water, and a rag are usually all it takes.
